Online interactive runway show at JCP. It’s not perfect but it’s gotten some rave reviews from customers and has been relatively successful since it launched a few weeks back.
I know that the SVC doesn’t quite match the normal reader of this site, but here it is… Upumpitup.com. It’s not the most profound name, but I think women will like it quite a bit. I was the senior Art Director on the project and created the overall look at feel of the site from concept through execution. For me this project was especially fun in that it combined two things that I hadn’t had the opportunity to work with before, celebrities and video integration. But enough talk… I’ll let Mandy explain it:
And yes, this is like my fourth women focused site in the past year. It may not be quite as… uh… interesting as Ambrielle but a lot more time and effort went into it.
Just found out that Ambrielle.com, the lingerie site I designed (Art Directed technically) for JCPenney last year has won three Web Marketing Association WebAwards:
The funny thing is that I designed this in early March (three days folks!) and hadn’t seen any part of it until tonight. The animations aren’t as fast as I had hoped but I’m really happy with the way the hand and the cookie guy’s eyes are integrated. I think it works with the entire campaign pretty well.
Okay, it’s not as interesting as Ambrielle, but it’s a better subject than my current project I can assure you. I’m not sure if I can hold out for Ambrielle #2 later this year.
Shameless plug time. My sister Sarah has an incredible talent designing jewelry. Her pieces have sold all over the world and can be found in boutiques from Denver to Chicago. She just debuted her Spring 2007 collection and I thought it was worth a quick mention.
Over the last few weeks I’ve had a few emails from friends wanting to know about the new job was going. Well for one it’s kept be quite busy. But rather than give some sorry excuse about being too busy to explain, let me actually say what I can.
From the moment I walked in the door I’ve been involved in the art direction of a large retail brand launch scheduled for early 2007. But it gets all the more interesting when I tell you what the main product is: high-end lingerie. So for the past month I’ve been creating the online art direction of a lingerie brand. Yeah it blows my mind too. But even cooler, it’s looking more and more likely that the design direction will be picked up for use in print and on TV as well.
