Highlights of 2011: 1973 3.0L CSL & Carmel Valley Road

Another car of my childhood on one of the best roads in North America. I was handed the keys with little explanation from BMW’s fleet manager. The Odometer showed around 20,000 but I had assumed it had rolled over at least once. After two hours of the best driving experience imaginable I rolled back into Monterey and caught up with the fleet manager. No the odometer hadn’t rolled over. And those were kilometers. Come to find out, the car I had just driven the hell out of had around 14,000 original miles and was worth over $300,000. Needless to say I’m glad I didn’t know before-hand.

And for the record. It’s better than you’ve heard.
