Which Car Gets the Shaft?

So I’m getting a MINI Cooper JCW GP for a week from MINI USA. We had talked about a week long test for MotoringFile way back last summer but up until a few days ago I had decided against doing iit simply because I didn’t have the time. However with some re-arrnaging of the schedule I found some time and will be taking possession December 1st.

All well and good you might say but here’s the dilemma: which car gets parked on the street? I’ve got a wonderful (any garage in Chicago is wonderful) two car garage where my own Cooper S and 3 series live. Beyond that I really don’t have much of a choice other than parking on the street in front of Lake Michigan. So do I put one of my own cars (both of which I love dearly) on the street for a week or do I relegate the fastest MINI ever to lowly street parking?

Gabe - See if you can find a friend or neighbor with an empty garage space for a week. If not, get a cover for the 3-series before parking it in the street.

Oh, I guess that shows which car I would kick out of the garage… 8)

The 3 series. (Sorry, Tracy.)

Take care of your own. The loaner goes on the street. That way you can shoow it off to everyone.

Gotta go with parking the loaner outside, too. Yes, it would suck if something happened to it, but at least it isn’t yours! That or find someone else with better parking and leave one of your cars there. Doesn’t Ken have copious, safe and convenient parking in front of his place? ;-)

3 Series, of course.

What? I mean, what? I cannot begin to convey just how disconnected I am from such a quandary.

Don’t suppose you could park one of the cars at work? If not, the loaner gets to sleep outside.

I’d say the loaner stays outside… after all, it is a loaner…and they have insurance for it should a city plow decide to hit it or some such thing.

I can ask my brother-in-law out in Alsip if there’s space for a GP in his garage. :-)

As much as I hate to see such a nice park parked outside in that dreadful weather you have, I have to vote GP too. How many magazines have beat on that car before it got to you? Besides, I’m sure Dr. Kay would prefer it that way ;)

Except it won’t fit over the wing of the GP. They have made a special cover for the GP.
