Exciting News

Wednesday I received two fantastic job offers, yesterday I gave my two weeks notice to my current employer, and today I accepted one of those offers. It’s an ideal situation and one couldn’t have come at a better time.

Despite a bright beginning I’ve been increasingly disenfranchised with my current employer and concerned about their long-term stability. So about a month ago I made a concerted effort to revamp my portfolio page and tweak my resume. That led me to a couple of great interviews and two very promising leads. So promising that is was very difficult to decline one of the offers.

However after some serious thought I’m happy to say that, as of September 25th, I’ll be taking an Art Director position at Avenue A | Razorfish. Interestingly the company I worked for during the dot-com days (Scient) was actually swallowed up by what is now Avenue A | Razorfish so in many ways I’ve come full circle with this position.

This also will signal a shift in my work with MotoringFile. Starting in two weeks I’ll be handing most day to day work on the site I founded to friend and Whiteroofradio founder Don Burnside. I have to admit I’m more excited than I should be about this change. Don will undoubtedly do a great job with MF and I’ll be able to retain my sanity and clear the day to day needs of the site out of my head. The transition won’t be overnight and I’ll certainly still write articles for MF, but I’ll certainly be a bit less visible then I am currently.

Exciting changes and exciting times.

That’s exciting news Gabe, Congrats! All the best.

At first I was thinking it was BSSP how sweet that would have been.

5 years ago when I was looking for a different horse to ride I saw a lot of ads for them [Razorfish] on CA mag’s site. I hear good things about them through my friends still in the bizz and see there work here and there.

Exciting changes and exciting times….though hopefully not Moderne Times!…….. ;¬)

Congrats. We’ll miss you day-to-day on MF. Don’t forget about us MINI folk now that you are big time. :D I hope you made sure and negotiated your time off for next year’s MOTD?

Rock on, man! Congrats! When you’d mentioned these upcoming changes and having to spend less time on MotoringFile, I thought long and hard about being part of the MF team. I just don’t have the drive (or time) to provide the care and feeding it needs to remain the great resource and communal hub it is and should continue to be. DB will do a great job; I just hope WhiteRoofRadio doesn’t suffer! ;-)

Congratulations to you both!
