I remember the days of Lounge Ax and having let Jeff squeeze through to get to the stage. Now scalpers are charging $1800 for tickets. Anyway on with the show:

I think the obvious answer for most would be no. Here’s an excerpt from Charles Fishman’s new book the Walmart effect from today’s Chicago Tribune:
Take salmon. Wal-Mart, which buys all of its salmon from Chile, sells more than anyone else in the country and undersells all other retailers by at least $2 per pound. That’s a lot of market power, which prompts Fishman to ask: “Does it matter that salmon for $4.84 a pound leaves a layer of toxic sludge on the ocean bottoms of the Pacific fjords of southern Chile?”

After a month or so and a couple of reviews, they call it “perfect” and then contract an unknown, unnamed manufacturer in China to build the car, so that they can bring it in to the U.S. market for $49,995. And here it is…

I’m not generally one to get hot and bothered by new laptops. Especially since I’ve found my 18 month old Apple Powerbook to be about perfect in every respect. However Apple has lured me back into buying mode with the MacBook Pro. 4-5 times faster and a better screen are magic to my ears.
