The NYT story covering the event reads like the Onion:

An unseen, sweet-smelling cloud drifted through parts of Manhattan last night. Arturo Padilla walked through it and declared that it was awesome.

“It’s like maple syrup. With Eggos. Or pancakes,” he said. “It’s pleasant.”

The internet movie series the Hire was a bold step when it was released back in 2001. Now after four years BMW is pulling the plug, seemingly turning its back on the magical word “convergence”. Just when many other manufacturers seem to be becoming increasingly aware of it. Here’s the press release:

BMW announced today that its award-winning internet short-film series, The Hire, will end its internet run on October 21, 2005. The debut of the first two films inThe Hire series was online in 2001. Nano!

MotoringFile Sections: Uncategorized Oct 5th, 2005 6 Comments

This is about a week overdue. I thought I’d share a few of the unpacking pics of my iPod Nano that I took last week. I’ve since installed the much needed invisibleSHIELD which has greatly improved the durability. It’s been a revelation for taking to the gym and using in the MINI (via the Ice>Link connector). While I love my 3G 40gig, it’ a little bulky to keep in the pocket and carry around everywhere. This device is ideal for that.

The Nano incorporates all the best of the iPod design details from previous generations. The non-beveled front edges from the first and second generation iPod combined with the click-wheel of the recent iterations make for a great form-factor. While I think white is really the better of the two colors offered, I felt my new black car mandated a black iPod Nano.
