I have way to much time on my hands, so……………………………………………………..

SUPER-SIZE that Burrito!………………………..

We have a Chipotle here in Pasadena, Ca. My wife and I enjoy the food but we have one major complaint, they super-size everything. By the time Chipotle is done super-sizing your choice you could feed Santana’s army. It’s a giant mess. The place is really doing Comida de la Calle or street food of Baja and other South American countries. Good food, now if they would only stop with the SS it would be even better. I have tried to get them to put less in but my limited “Spanglish” never gets through. Poquito, por favor.

The 3rd, I think, In-N-Out was built in Pasadena, I have eaten there since 1962. They went through a inconsistent period, I think, while expanding back in the 1980’s. I have eaten at White Castle and the others but find In-N-Out the best. Request the Animal Burger if you want to be part of the in crowd and enjoy a really messy burger. I hope when Esther goes they have someone in place that will continue the quality.

I was at In-N-Out yesterday and some lady asked me what kinda car is that? She had never heard of a Mini Cooper. She said, ” Looks like some kinda funny foreign cartoon car.” I had to chuckle and as I ate my animal burger. BTW, she was driving a Escalade.

No Super-Sizing here………………………………

Chez Panisse/Berkeley, Stars, Fog City Diner, Zuni Cafe/San Francisco. All amazing but pricey foodie hangouts. I love those places but Zuni or Chez Panisse are the best. Can’t forget Mustards in St. Helena north of SF.

And there ya go more info than you need or wanted…………….RB
