It's really hard for someone on the other side of the world to fathom what happened a few days ago in the Indian ocean. However these videos give us a glimpse as to what the nightmare was like. The 2nd one is particularly frightening:

As many of my friends know I'm a total sucker for Christmas music. Specifically I love the stuff from the 30's through 60's. There's just nothing like the crackle of an old Christmas album on a dark cozy December evening.
And as anyone who spent four years as a college DJ I'm also a great fan of the mix cd. From my wedding cd to countless trip mixes I just can't get enough of a good collection of music.
Add that all together and you have one painstakingly crafted Christmas album every year.
It all started with my college roommate Josh Eckhardt and I created a Christmas tape in 1995. It was so successful that word quickly spread and copies made their way around campus throughout December.
It took five years but in November of 2000 I created the first of my own Christmas albums. Each year it was a variation of a similar theme. Old music primarily from the 40's, 50's and 60's was the mainstay. They were all great mixes and all different in feel from one another as well.
