The 2004 Lake Forest Car Show

05

Some photos I took a few weekends ago at the Lake Forest Classic Car show. I actually just happened upon it and stopped by.

Gabe, great pics! That Mercedes-Benz 300SL has got to be my favorite (just something about those) but that old Alfa Romeo racer at the end is a close second. What a car!

Nice Gabe.

I don't know the 5th car in. what was it?

My 1st car was a '56 Ford Country Squire station wagon, with the cowboy pattern seats. Loved that car and did a lot of fun stuff, in my '60's surfing youth, in it, on it and it by it.
…RB

Nice happenstance! Lot of interesting cars, especially the prototypes.

The photos reminded me of the being a little kid and seeing a 300SL on the road for the first time: east bound on Lawrence Avenue turning left up Clark. When those cars were new, there was a dealer somewhere on Clark or Ashland up near Foster.

Also, perhaps in answer to RB, the fifth slide is a Chrysler product, the Falcon, designed in mid-fifties response to the Corvette and Thunderbird. Beautiful car, to bad it did not make it to market.

Thanks
